You may have heard of long-tail keywords and keyphrases. But for most of us, it is difficult to differentiate between these to terms. Keyphrases by definition are a group of more than one word and they can be general or specific sometimes. Whereas Long-tail keywords may consist of more words, but the condition is, they should be more specific. Sometimes, Long tail keywords can consist of fewer words than keyphrases, but they always tell more specific information.

Check these examples to understand the main difference between both terms. As we told keyphrases can be general or specific, like [dog food] or [dog food for sick dogs] while long-tail keywords are always more specific [dog food for sick dogs in LA].
